LOCATION // This gap year program is in the eastern part of Canada and (from a historical and political perspective) part of Central Canada, Quebec occupies a territory nearly three times the size of France or Texas, most of which is very sparsely populated. Quebec’s highest point is Mont D’Iberville, located on the border with Newfoundland and Labrador in the northeastern part of the province.

CULTURAL INFORMATION // 

• Climate: Much colder than the continental U.S., with the first snow typically falling in November and lasting until April.

• Language: The official language is French, with 80.1% of the population identifying it as their first language. About 95% of people can speak French to some degree.

• Family & Society: Traditional family structures are rare, and marriage rates have declined as cohabitation has become more common.

DAY TO DAY LIFE // 

• French Lessons: Students will attend French classes throughout the week to develop their language skills.

• Church Involvement: Active participation in worship services, Bible studies, and other church-related activities to foster spiritual growth.

• Community Outreach: Students will serve in local towns, building relationships, sharing the gospel, and engaging in intentional discipleship alongside local believers.

• Discipleship Focus: The goal is to not only make disciples but also equip others to do the same, ensuring a lasting spiritual impact.
