Cultural Experience

A Predominantly Muslim Nation

  • This country has very little Gospel presence, and the city is one of the most spiritually dark and unreached areas in the region.

  • A heart for the Muslim people and a willingness to embrace their culture is essential for thriving in this environment.

  • The people are hospitable, honest, and open, but students will need to learn and respect certain cultural norms.

Food & Daily Life

  • Expect a diet of rice, rice, and more rice—though noodles, bread, and peanut butter are also available.

  • Western fast-food chains like McDonald's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Starbucks have made their way into the city.

  • Climate: Being close to the equator, temperatures stay between 75°F – 90°F year-round. The rainy season occurs during the winter months and is a welcome relief.

  • The sun rises at 5 AM and sets at 6 PM daily.

Adventure & Activities
The city offers endless opportunities for exploration:

  • Malls for shopping, dining, and entertainment

  • sland excursions, scuba diving, snorkeling, and jet-skiing

  • Hiking, caving, and waterfall exploring

  • Fishing, swimming, waterparks, and more

  • Most activities are affordable and within an hour’s drive!

Ministry Opportunities

Evangelism & Discipleship

  • Students will work alongside local churches under the leadership of the Field Directors.

  • Ministry will focus on building relationships, evangelism, and discipleship.

  • There will be opportunities to serve using individual gifts and talents.
